Salary: £180,000-£220,000 per annum + 20% bonus

• Oversee the development and maintenance of data infrastructure, including data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes.
• Drive the adoption of best practices in data engineering, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security of data platforms.
• Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in the data engineering field, making recommendations for process improvements and tooling enhancements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define and prioritize data requirements, ensuring data availability and accuracy for analytics and reporting purposes.
• Establish and monitor key performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of data engineering initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
• Extensive experience in data engineering, with a proven track record of leading high-performing teams.
• Strong technical expertise in data engineering tools and technologies, such as Hadoop, Spark, SQL, and cloud-based data platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data integration techniques.
• Proficient in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
• Experience in the telecoms industry or a similar highly data-driven environment is highly desirable.
• Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities, with the capacity to present complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
