Contract Title: Senior Data Project Manager

Location: Perth Scotlad, Hybrid

Daily Rate £550/650 per day inside IR35

Position Overview:

As a Senior Data Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing complex data-driven projects within the finance domain/department. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders, to ensure successful project delivery and alignment with our strategic objectives. Your expertise in both project management and finance will be crucial in driving data initiatives that enhance our decision-making capabilities and optimize business outcomes.

Responsibilities:

Lead end-to-end project management for data-driven initiatives in the finance department, from planning and scoping to execution and delivery.

Collaborate with stakeholders to define project goals, objectives, and success criteria, ensuring alignment with overall business strategy.

Develop and execute project plans, including timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.

Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to gather and integrate relevant financial data, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with industry regulations.

Drive data analysis and modeling activities, providing insights and recommendations that support strategic decision-making processes.

Establish and maintain effective communication channels, providing regular updates and progress reports to key stakeholders.

Identify and mitigate project risks and issues, implementing appropriate mitigation and contingency plans as necessary.

Foster a culture of continuous improvement, championing best practices in data project management, and promoting knowledge sharing within the team.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, data science, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.

Proven experience as a Data Project Manager, preferably within the finance teams.

Strong understanding of financial concepts, including accounting principles, investment strategies, and risk management.

Proficiency in project management methodologies, tools, and frameworks, with a track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget.

Expertise in data management and analysis, including data integration, modeling, visualization, and reporting.

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and communicate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Strong leadership abilities, capable of motivating and influencing cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.

Solid problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to navigate through ambiguity and make sound decisions.

Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements within the financial sector is highly desirable.

Location:

This position is based in Scotland, Perth with onsite work weekly and some travel to other location in Scotland.
