Commercial Project Manager - Energy - £500 - £600 per day - Reading / Remote with occasional office visits - 6 month contract with possibility to extend to 12 months / go permanent


I am working with a client who develop electricity network solutions (licenced and licence-exempt) that ideally link in with wider Distributed Energy propositions. This includes providing solutions to existing network owners and new industrial and commercial customers. This role will be focused on developing the project pipeline through the acquisition and build-out of existing electricity network infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Support origination and to qualify opportunities, including both project and asset acquisition and early-stage development with partners. Key to success in doing this in the near-term will be working with partners, developers, asset owners and investors in the market.
  • You will bring experience in originating, qualifying and developing network/distributed power and energy projects in the UK, and a track record in managing partnerships and supply relationships. It is essential that you bring experience and understanding of the technical and commercial elements of the electricity distribution system.
  • You will be responsible for development of project opportunities, conducting due diligence on projects and delivering value to the business by progressing the best opportunities through development and governance milestones.

Experience:

  • Proven experience in developing proposition from early stage to successful and profitable conclusion.
  • Project development in the energy sector: power / gas / carbon markets, planning and permitting, grid connections, land agreements.
  • Strong commercial acumen to identify commercial opportunities and risk and to understand and deliver the requisite business model structures in conjunction with the commercial and finance team.
  • Good knowledge of the energy and power markets, and related policy and regulatory regimes in GB is essential, with knowledge of both distribution networks and power generation and battery storage solutions.
  • Expert knowledge and development experience in the electricity network market and the needs of the industrial and commercial sectors.
  • Experience in key aspects of renewable project development (grid, land and planning)
