2nd Line Support Engineer
Daily Rate £170
Contract length : 36 months
Various locations : Bracknell or Birmingham


Job Description: The 2nd Line Support Engineer will play a crucial role in the 24x7 (365 days) support of the SDWAN Service Team. This position requires participation in a shift pattern to ensure continuous coverage. The primary focus is on providing support for both network and server-related issues within the SDWAN environment. The engineer is expected to have in-depth knowledge of configuring and tuning various technologies, including Juniper SRX platform, BGP, IPSEC, MPLS, PKI, and SDWAN.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive support for SDWAN Services, including network and server tasks.
  • Collaborate with the existing SDWAN Service Team to address issues effectively.


Technical Expertise:

  • Demonstrate expertise in configuring and tuning the Juniper SRX platform with a strong focus on Junos and various SRX platforms.
  • In-depth knowledge of BGP, encompassing policy-based routing, attribute manipulation, load balancing techniques, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting IPSEC VPNs, including familiarity with related problem-solving.
  • Extensive experience in MPLS configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of PKI infrastructure elements and familiarity with certificate-based VPN authentication


Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Network Engineer, with a focus on SDWAN Services.
  • In-depth knowledge and practical experience with Juniper SRX platform, BGP, IPSEC, MPLS, PKI, and SDWAN.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Junos, SRX platforms, and strong command line interface (CLI) exposure.
  • Proficient in routing and switching with a focus on BGP configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with MPLS configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of PKI infrastructure elements and certificate-based VPN authentication.


Desirable Skills:

  • Ability to work within a 24x7 shift pattern, including weekends and holidays.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate within a team.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to address issues promptly.
  • Willingness to perform both network and server tasks as required.
