Our client, a consulting firm for the Defence and Space vertical, is currently hiring for a Design Engineer to work on client projects on all aspects of vehicle design, suspension & driveline design and platform integration. Platforms may be tracked or wheeled and may be conventional or Hybrid powered.
Responsibilities
- Produce high quality design solutions
- Deliver cost effectively project designs on time, in a busy, fast paced environment
- Have experience of vehicle design and development
- Maintain quality standards for project 3D models and manufacturing drawings
- Maintain a keen awareness of industry trends and new developments in technology across powertrain, driveline and suspension systems
- Communicate and present clearly both internally and externally to clients & suppliers
Requirements
- 3-5 Years Experience
- Preferably a degree in Mechanical Engineering (or significant directly relevant experience)
- The successful candidate will likely have more than 3 years design experience, ideally with a focus on powertrain, driveline, and suspension systems.
- Practical experience of hybrid technology would be a distinct advantage.
- They will be a highly motivated self-starter but also able to operate in a team environment.
- The candidate should have experience of using one or more of the major 3D CAD systems.
- Proven experience with design analysis & simulation tools such as Nastran / ANSYS / ADAMS would be beneficial, as would experience of driveline and suspension system validation.
This is a full time, permanent position working Monday-Friday. This is a fully remote role.
