Our client, a leading Financial Services company, based near Rotterdam, are currently hiring for an Interim Business Intelligence (BI) and Data Manager to be responsible for establishing and leading a centralized BI and Data integration function within the bank.
This critical role ensures that the organization's data assets are systematically integrated into a centralized data platform and are available for analytics and decision-making. The role combines data modeling expertise, strategic oversight, and managerial leadership to develop a robust data ecosystem that supports both governance and flexibility for end users.
Responsibilities
Capability Development and Implementation
- Lead the creation of a centralized data integration and BI capability for the bank. Establish structured processes for data integration, modeling, and governance within the centralized data platform.
- Ensure the implementation and maintenance of effective data models, adherence to best practices and industry standards.
- Ensure adherence to governance frameworks and compliance with regulations such as GDPR, Basel IV, and other financial regulations relevant to data use.
Business Intelligence Strategy
- Support the implementation of a scalable self-service BI framework that enables users across the bank to access and analyze data independently.
- Set up a Center of Excellence (CoE) for BI, providing guidance, standards, and training for BI practices across the organization.
Data Integration and Modelling
- Oversee the creation and update of data integration processes, ensuring that data sources are harmonized into the centralized data platform.
- Implement robust procedures for maintaining data quality and consistency across all models.
Leadership and Team Management
- Manage a team of BI and data integration specialists, ensuring they possess the necessary skills to support the development and rollout of the capabilities.
- Provide mentorship and training opportunities to upskill team members and the business users for expertise with organizational goals.
- Ensure alignment between the Cloud Data Platform's capabilities and the needs of various business units within the bank (hub and the spokes).
Requirements
- Proven experience in establishing and managing centralized BI and data integration functions.
- Deep knowledge of Databricks Lakehouse architecture, including data pipeline creation and management.
- Strong understanding of data modeling and expertise in developing collection layers within DBT & Databricks.
- Experience with setting up processes to maintain and govern Data Integration and BI capabilities.
- Sound experience in people management.
This is a 12 month self-employed contract position to start in early February 2025.
