Our client, a leading Financial Services business based in Amsterdam, NL is seeking a practically skilled and experienced Azure Engineer with a strong background in CI/CD, IaC (Bicep) and Cloud Centre of Excellence experience to join our growing Cloud Enablement team at APG Asset Management.
In this role, you will work on the design, implementation, and optimisation of our Azure cloud-based solutions – with a focus on services like Azure Data Factory (ADF), Databricks (ADB), Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), and more.
Responsibilities
- Develop and life-cycle manage Azure Verified Module (AVM) based modules on Microsoft Azure to support Azure DIY application teams in APG Asset Management.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams to identify requirements and develop robust, scalable and efficient cloud-based solutions.
- Design and implement supporting tooling for application teams, including azure modules, standard patterns, and logging-monitoring-alerting (LMA) templates.
- Monitor, troubleshoot and optimize performance of Azure-based solutions, ensuring security and compliance best practices are followed.
- Assist in the execution of the Cloud Adoption (early stage), from creating reference implementations to executing of application assessments (6R).
- Assist in the execution of the Cloud Skills Assessments.
- Drive and facilitate the cloud community, with open hours, training, coaching, and attending or co-organising events/hackathons.
Requirements
- 5+ years of mixed experience in software development and cloud engineering
- 2 years experience focused on Azure services.
- Concrete experience in Azure cloud (infrastructure) engineering, focused on Azure Data services, such as Azure Functions, Azure SQL Database, Cosmos DB, Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory.
- Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines, including infrastructure as code (IaC) using Bicep, Powershell, Azure CLI and bash scripting.
- Deep understanding of cloud-native architectures, containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), and serverless computing.
- Experience with working in Azure Policies guard railed subscriptions provided by a platform team / vendor
- Knowledge of security and compliance best practices in Azure, including IAM, RBAC, network security, and Azure resources data plane security.
- All of the above in an enterprise setting with production systems running through best practices (all IaC, Just-in-time access)
- Optional: Programming skills (Python, C#) and experience with APIs and microservices architecture.
