Job description

Our client, a leading Financial Services & Insurance business, are currently hiring for a Principal IT Delivery Lead to be accountable for both IT delivery from inception through to go-live and the ongoing support and maintenance of the existing and newly delivered applications.

In this role you will build and maintain the team and capabilities required to meet the current and future needs of the organisation, at an effective price-point, employing an appropriate mix of permanent, partner and contract resource.

Responsibilities

  • Define/influence the technology strategy/roadmap for a given business area
  • Define the delivery methodology and tooling to optimise delivery efficiency and quality, including implementing appropriate DevOps capability.
  • End-to-end delivery of Insurance Broker Operations IT Projects & Small Change.
  • Application Support & Maintenance for Insurance Underwriter, Claims and Accident Management Operations IT Systems
  • Act as point of contact for B2B tenders, Acquisitions and divestitures
  • The design and delivery of IT work packages, taking ownership for the full development lifecycle.
  • The timeline of those work packages, creating & maintaining detailed delivery plans, aligned to project deliveries.
  • Delivery to the base-lined costs. This includes an effective Estimate Challenge process
  • Manages resource scheduling and conflicts, escalating to their line manager where applicable.
  • People management responsibility for multiple direct reports.

Requirements

  • Experience of managing complex IT delivery portfolios in excess of £3M per annum in the Insurance sector.
  • Experience of managing medium, cross-functional delivery teams in excess of 20 people
  • Experience of managing large offshore development teams across multiple vendors.
  • Accomplished at Senior Stakeholder management, including Exec engagement and reporting. Flexibility in using a range of influencing styles to build strong sustainable relationships and demonstrate value.
  • Ability to translate end state business and technology models into delivery roadmaps
  • Understanding of typical IT service delivery models
  • Experience of DevOps, Agile and Waterfall development methods, and tools.

This is a full-time, permanent/FTE position, working Monday to Friday.

This is a hybrid role, with 1-2 days a week required at the office in Basingstoke with some travel to other UK offices required.
