Is it time to look for a new job?

29 January 2018

It’s a brand new year and it’s time to put your 2018 resolutions into action! Year after year, January is the time for setting your personal goals for the coming year. You might not even have considered changing jobs before, and many people don’t realise that their job isn’t right for them, so we’ve detailed below some signs that it might be time for a change.

Do you find yourself sitting at your desk bored?

Perhaps your role has become less challenging over the months or years, or it might have simply become tedious, putting you into auto-pilot mode when you enter the office every day. As the saying goes, “find a job you love and you’ll never have to work a day in your life.”  Your job does not have to be tedious!

Are you constantly complaining?

Everyone is entitled to a moan, but it’s not nice for you – or your colleagues – to be continually complaining on the job. If this sounds like you, it might be time to admit that enough is enough.

Have you been searching for jobs similar to yours?

Looking at the job market is often a good way to find out what you’re worth in the current market, but when you’re actively looking for jobs in your spare time, it’s a pretty clear indicator that it’s time to move on. If you are serious about leaving your job, the best thing you can do is take action as soon as you can.

Are you having trouble switching off?

Working hard is an excellent attribute to have, but if you are over-working yourself it can be detrimental to your health. Being overworked can disrupt your work/life balance and ultimately, make you miserable!
